It is quite complex to neophytes, technophobes and casual technology users, so all want straight-forward explanations and relatively easy, self-manageable solutions.

Rates: Generally $75 per hour; high complexity can approach $200 per hour, depending on level of technology and integration. DISCOUNTS of as much as 50% available for: several hours in a month, fixed-price and continuing consulting.

We often pay computer consultants $125 to $200/hour to help us with specific computer issues. If we were not ol' computer pros (some of us have more than 40 years' experience), we'd not have sleuthed through most of the rest of the application issues, interactions and opportunities.

But there's times even us pros need help - generally in the specialities and knowing the inside info on the suppliers and the often flaky software thrown out there too early.

Adding in high-speed linkages plus company computer enterprise, exchange, firewall systems, then the complexity increases and the hourly rate moves up dramatically to the top of the scale.
